Numerus Clausus

The “Eignungstest für Medizinstudierende” (EMS), also known as the “Numerus Clausus” (NC), is a mandatory component for admission to the dental degree program in Switzerland. The test consists of tasks that do not require any prior knowledge, but it is still beneficial to familiarize oneself with the tasks and structure in advance.

Officially, no preparation is deemed necessary. However, many applicants choose to prepare intensively for the NC. Early and targeted preparation can certainly help boost confidence and improve exam performance. Self-study is sufficient for those interested in dental studies, but specific courses are also available.

In recent years, the admission rate for the dental degree program has been approximately 50%.
